head Chef Mostafa

Mostafa found his passion for food undertaking the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management at TAFE NSW, Sydney Institute.  He started his career at Billingsgate Fish Bistro at Randwick before moving to Pier 26 now known as Helm Bar and on to The Burlington at Crows’ Nest as Chef de Partie.

Chef Mostafa also worked under the respected Matthew Kemp at the much celebrated Two hatted French fine dining Restaurant Balzac at Randwick.

He went on to helm Firefly at Neutral Bay and Firefly Lodge at Lane Cove as Head Chef before spending a brief time heading the Pocket Group and The Roosevelt Bar & Diner.

He was lured to Perth in West Australia to work at the Kailis Trigg Beach before he found himself living and working in Melbourne in 2014.

After a stint of 3 years in Melbourne working in the highly regarded Meat Market South Wharf Restaurant Bar as Head Chef, Mostafa relocated to Sydney to team up with Abdul Hoque at Flamez Eatery at Maroubra where he continues to bring his best backed by his varied experience in English, Spanish, French and modern Australian cuisines.

He continues his passion of creating dishes that continue to delight and tantalise the palate with his effortless ability to bring the best out of every ingredient he uses.

Chef Mostafa’s new menu is influenced by his love of good food.

Owner – Abdul Hoque

Abdul Hoque began his hospitality career sometime in 1989 and since that time has owned a string of restaurants, cafes and food outlets catering to the changing tastes of Australians.  From his beginnings at Moghul Tandoori Mahal on Coogee Beach Street in Coogee, Curry Junction in Bondi Junction, Indian Excellency on Pitt Street in Sydney, Ambala Indian Restaurant and Function Centre at Milsons Point, he went on to start Burgerlicious in Liverpool Street, Sydney, Flamez Grill and Burger Crave in Bondi Junction as well as Bombay Tiffin in George Street, Sydney.

Trained in hospitality, Abdul has been able to use his training and translate that into leading his staff in all his restaurants to provide a hospitable and friendly relaxed environment that creates good food for the enjoyment of all his patrons.

Now at Flamez Eatery at Maroubra by the Beach, Abdul has teamed up with Chef Mostafa to provide the best modern Australian cuisine for your enjoyment in a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.
